Marketing Mix & SEM

In order to place a website successfully in the internet every webmaster requires a mix of different marketing tools. Within this marketing mix SEM, Search Engine Marketing, has been gaining importance for many webmasters.

Conventional ad campaigns for websites in the internet are usually calculated based on per view, click, lead or sale. These can cause in some cases enormous marketing costs.

Therefore many companies use SEM to reduce their advertisement costs.

The aim is to get a better listing among search phrases to attract more clients within the target group without large advertisement campaigns.

For every commercial website the problem to solve is how to design the SEM strategy, whether to focus on SEA, Search Engine Advertising, or on SEO, Search Engine Optimization.

Often adjustments with Search Engine Marketing become possible for instance in combination with text ads to promote a certain search phrase or keyword to receive many incoming links.

Therefore it is my opinion that every webmaster in advance should consult a SEM-expert in order to create a tailored solution for a webproject.

Normally such an SEM-expert will suggest first an On-Page and an Off-Page analysis in order to get an overview of the current situation. In combination with a good target group definition it will then be possible to create a campaign that matches the expectations.

Beside the optimization among search engines, every good SEM-expert also will advise, if not existing, to create a good landing page for the target group in order to improve the conversion and so the revenue.

Success is no coincidence.
